Javier Solana was a high representative of the European Union’s foreign policy and security for 10 years. Since 2010 he started working in the prestigious business school ESADE as president of the Global Economy and Geopolitics Center, a new institution opened with the collaboration of other international centers. In charge of directing the elaboration process of “La Estrategia Española de Seguridad”, since 2009, managed by the government.
Javier Solana completed part of his studies in the United States, he has been a physics teacher of the Complutense University of Madrid, as well as Minister of Education. In the 90’s he became the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the last government of the PSOE with Felipe Gonzalez. He has been OTAN’s General Secretary from 1995 to 1999 when he became a high representative of the Europe Union and head of the EUFOR.
